TUGA is the Triangle Unplugged Gaming Association. TUGA was conceived months before but became an "official" entity with the beginning of a listserv on April 30, 2002. The goal of TUGA is to promote unplugged gaming (board games, card games, role-playing games, etc) here in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel-Hill and surrounding areas) as well as provide a sense of community, services and resources for its members. We are very interested in emphasizing the educational, social and therapeutic benefits that can be had from gaming. TUGA has many long-term goals including organizing gaming events, conventions, promoting gaming, gaming workshops in libraries and other locales, etc.
Our most immediate goals are to:
- Spread the word about TUGA! Inform people in the area that there is a central location where they can meet and find out about other gamers and games in our community.
- Hold smaller gaming meetings, slowly building toward a goal of larger meetings as well as a yearly gaming convention.
- Educate the public about the games they already know about as well as introduce and explain those which they have not.
- Obtain 501(c)(3) Non-Profit status.
Currently TUGA consists of this website and a growing mailing list.

YOU CAN HELP TUGA!!
Currently, the number one way that you can help build the TUGA community is to spread the word. Tell your friends, Email your fellow gamers, and now you can even post flyers. Here is a basic flyer in both MSWord and PDF format. Please feel free to print them out and post them in locations where you feel they will be seen by those interested! (and don't forget to ask permission if you need to!)
